About Assam State Open School (ASOS)

Assam State Open School (ASOS) , formerly named as Assam Open Board, was established in 2001 under the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) to provide education to those who could not continue their formal schooling. ASOS was initiated with the objective of offering flexible and inclusive learning opportunities, especially for school dropouts, working individuals, and students from remote and underprivileged areas. Since its inception, ASOS has been responsible for academic planning, curriculum development, and conducting examinations for both Secondary (Class X) and Higher Secondary (Class XII) levels. With a growing number of learners each year, ASOS continues to expand its services to ensure quality education and equal opportunities for all.
